Like their dolphin cousins, killer whales are extremely noisy animals and communicate with each other using clicks and whistles, in a process known as echolocation. Killer whales are known to be at their loudest and loudest when they are hunting and at their most quiet when they are resting. During different types of activities, killer whales also make different sounds.
