Sperm whales are often seen in groups (called pods) of about 15 to 20 animals. Pods contain females and their young, while males can roam solo or move from group to group. Females and calves reside in tropical or subtropical waters year-round and apparently practice communal child care. Males migrate to higher latitudes, alone or in groups, and return to the equator to breed.
This sperm whale playing figure measures 30 x 10 x 8 centimeters.
