The brachiosaurus is one of the largest animals that ever lived on earth. It is 23 meters long. That is almost as long as a lap in the swimming pool! It towers over its least small relatives with its 13 meters height. But even though it looks dangerous, with that fiery red color on its back, appearances can be deceiving. It is very peaceful and only eats plants. Thank goodness! You can see the enormous brachiosaurus coming from far away. Its long neck sticks high above the treetops. What is it actually doing? With its sharp teeth it picks leaves and twigs from the branches. It is almost never disturbed while eating, because this prehistoric giant is not only an impressive appearance. It has a fiery red lizard skin, which reaches from its head to the tip of its tail. Very clever of the brachiosaurus to keep competitors at a distance. After all, as a vegetarian it has no interest in fighting.
