When farmer Paul looks out the window of his red-painted large farmhouse in the morning, his animals are already staring at him expectantly. Even before he makes himself breakfast, he feeds the cow and the calf, the pig and the piglet. Of course, the cat also gets something, although the intention was actually for him to catch the curious mouse in the hayloft. Now that all the animals have been fed, farmer Paul uses the winch to hoist the hay back to the hayloft. The animals are driven into the pasture so that the stables can be properly cleaned. The pigeon stares at him from its cage on the roof. He cries every now and then: 'Haven't you forgotten a corner?'
