The Japanese macaque observes like a quadruped. Nothing escapes those black beady eyes on its reddish face. With its thick fur, this monkey is well-resistant to cold weather. Sometimes it has to wait out the icy wind in the snow. Then it prefers to snuggle up against a friend to warm up. But maybe a cozy jacket pocket will help too? The Japanese macaque looks around kindly. It almost looks like it is smiling. It turns its bushy head with its small, reddish face. "Do you have something tasty for me?" Who can resist that! Like all monkeys, this macaque loves fresh fruit. Sweet snacks, such as bananas, are especially popular. The Japanese macaque is curious and sociable and likes to make new friends. After an initial introduction, it likes to be scratched by the thick fur on its back.
